This trainer list is not associated with TABA or endorsed by TABA. It is a contact list for owners' convenience. The two criteria a trainer must meet to be listed on this site are a valid Texas racehorse trainer's license and willingness to train Arabians.

There are many fine trainers available in Texas for your Arabian racehorse.
Visit with them, see their facilities and horses in their stables, watch the way they handle the animals, check their statistics and references, and choose a trainer whose philosophies are in line with your own.
Texas Arabian Trainers
Finding the right trainer for your horse is one of the most important things you can do to insure your satisfaction with your Arabian racing experience. Most of the trainers listed below currently train and race Arabians in Texas. Several on the list make other states their homes for Arabian racing, but travel to Texas for meets or special stakes races.
There are other choices available to you. Some owners decide to train their own racehorse. Many Quarter horse and Thoroughbred trainers will also accept Arabians into their training programs.
"There is a simple explanation as to why trainer Jerenesto Torrez is known around Sam Houston Race Park as the "Arabian King." His Arabians win, and they win in bunches. The leading Arabian Texas trainer and long time veteran horsemen scored another victory on Sunday, March 25, 2006 in arguably his best training job of the meet when Vibvilcca returned from a two-month layoff to score a gusty ½ length win against allowance foes.
"The win gave Torrez win number 19 from 79 starters for the meet, placing him in sixth position in the trainers standings (of all breeds), placing him ahead of prominent horsemen such as Steve Assmussen and Michael Stidham. His 24% win clip ranks him fourth amongst top ten trainers at the current meet, and his 62% in-the-money finish, ranks at the head of the class when compared to the top ten trainers during the winter/spring meeting that concludes on April, 7th. His horses have accumulated purse earnings of $117,579."
Right after this report, Ernesto won the next Arabian race with Cruz Along. If he keeps up this kind of performance, we may well be looking at Ernesto Torrez as the Arabian Trainer of the Year for 2007, too.

After college Liz worked for Jonathan Shepherd. He is a Hall of Fame flat track race trainer. He was the trainer for the very famous Storm Cat. While working for him, Liz realized she wanted to be a race horse trainer.
That was right around the time that Bob Magness died and the great herd of Magness Arabian race horses was sold. Liz's friend Bobbi Richine who owns Rocky Mountain Training Center purchased several Monarch offspring when Magness was dispersing the herd. Liz told her how much she had learned working for Jonathan, and that she really wanted to train race horses. Bobbi offered three of her Monarchs to train.
Liz won her first race with a Monarch gelding named Noble Notion. It was his first out as well. Liz was hooked after that and went on to win with the other Monarchs Bobbi allowed her to train. This really helped Liz get a foot in the door. "I was blessed with great horses and early success, and things just took off from there," says Liz.

New on the scene and quick to the top... TABA honors and congratulates trainer Mike Furr as 2005 Trainer of the year.

Glenn Rottweiler, always high in the Texas standings and even on the national scale, achieved top honors as Trainer of the Year in 2001. Incredibly successful, his family-run stable trained Champion 4 year old filly, Champion 3 year old filly, Champion 3 year old colt, AND Champion Horse of the Year for 2001.
