| September 19, 2009 - It was a doubly sweet night for Toskhara Arabians owned by Dick and Christine Reed. Their two geldings ran 1-2 in beautiful form besting the 11 horse field. One Liner finished first a half length over Sizedoesntmatter, battling for the win in the stretch. Both these steeds are by Toskhara's stallion Line Dancer, and trained by Jerry Partin. They had been in previous trainer hands and had not yet pulled off a win, Jerry said he changed their feed. Dick said, "I think they like the feed." The winner One Liner is out of the mare Oziel by Orzel II, and was bred by Joe Powell. Second, Sizedoesntmatter is out of Contemporary You by Wiking. Third was Chnkira, a grey filly by Chndaka out of Reality Check by Wiking. Fourth came Duro, a colt by No Limite out of MSA Zbritzka by Brusally Zbruenu. This was a 6 furlong challenge for maidens with a purse of $7,500. September 18, 2009 - This extra race written for Arabians at Retama Park drew enough top horses it looked like a stake. Running for $10,000, it was certainly worth it to bring out the big guns. In this very exciting race, Darley Champion Golly Bret prevailed, leading the race nearly wire to wire, but barely holding off closers at the end. The fast advancing Moulin Rouge MAF and Ala Bout Me stalked up on Golly Bret, necks apart at the finish. Frynge Benefit, with his own share of stakes wins to his record, was right there in the late hunt and came fourth by a half length. Time of this 6 1/2 furlong race was 1:28.08. Golly Bret is owned and bred by Sam Vasquez, and trained by Elizabeth Brand. The 4 year old chestnut colt is by Kador De Blaziet and out of Golly Gal by By Golly. Moulin Rouge MAF is by Ala Croixnoire out of Monachs Passion by Monarch AH. Ala Bout Me is also by Ala Croixnoire, out of Lilas Al Mels by Djelfor. Frynge Benefit is by Dormane out of Fryga by Wielki Raz. September 17, 2009 - Clunk was anything but a clunker in the allowance race last Thursday night. Fans knew he wasn't, as he went off the favorite in the race. Clunk kicked clear to the lead at the final turn, chased by Finales Majic SWA in the stretch who just couldn't quite get there. Burning Speed MKP got off to a slow start but made it up to third by the wire, 3/4 of a length over Striving Forward MKP in fourth. The race was worth $8,000 with 10 horses running for the money. Clunk clocked in 1:20.88 for the 6 furlongs. Clunk is owned and bred by Dan and Everetta Woods. He's a 4 year old colt by Dreams Of Valor out of Serenaa, by Wiking. He was trained by Justice Rochabrun, and ridden by jockey John Rochabrun. Finales Majic SWA is a 5 year by K A Czubuthan and out of the mare Merlins Finale by J B Merlin. Burning Speed MKP is a Burning Sand son out of Scarlet O Sara by Tiki Sahiber Ku, and Striving Forward MKP is by Falina Des Fabries out of Pierrota by Pierrot PASB.
