Each horse to be drawn into the body of a race must have its jockey named by the time established by the Racing Secretary for the draw of post positions and before the overnight is printed. An apprentice allowance may only be claimed before entries have closed. It is the trainer’s responsibility to engage and name a jockey before the drawing of the race. Should a jockey remain unnamed at the time of the drawing of entries, the Stewards or their appointee shall select one. No jockey, once named, shall be changed except for good cause by the Stewards.
