SAMMY V sets a blazing new track record in the Texas Lone Star Futurity colts division Nov 11th at Lone Star Park. See RESULTS!
The HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival unveiled plans for the HH Shaikha Fatma Bint Mubarak Ladies Fegentri Cup in Houston in 2012. (update, renamed to H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies IFAHR Cup). "This stake will be run on the same day when the Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup is held at the Sam Houston Race Park in March next year,” said Ms Lara Sawaya, director of the program.
Sawaya also announced HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival sponsorship of the Darley Awards, the ‘Oscars’ of Arabian racing in the United States of America, to be held in Texas in 2012 (update, now set for March 4, 2012). TABA President Ed Wilson and Texas breeder/owner Michelle Morgan joined other US racing representatives to man booths at ADIHEX in Abu Dhabi in September. The HH Sheik Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Festival for Arabian Flat Racing paid for booth space so various US Arabian Racing interests can have visibility at the event. The TEXAS ARABIAN OAKS is cancelled for 2011. (previously scheduled September 10). The TIKI DIABLO sponsored by Sam Vasquez will be run instead on September 10, 2011. This stake is for 3 and 4 year old fillies and mares on the turf. See details.

Texas Arabian Racing will resume on September 1 at Retama Park- CLICK HERE FOR RACES. The meet will continue through October 8. Then Arabians will race at Lone Star Park October 14 through November 11. Racing dates for this fall are the same time frame as last year and same number of races at each track. The roster of 6 stakes races includes the Texas Derby (G3), the Tiki Diablo Stake, two grade 3 Stallion Stakes, and the Lone Star Futurities. >> see stakes schedule
The SHEIKH ZAYED BIN SULTAN AL NAHYAN CUP at Sam Houston Race Park on April 9th was our last stake of the spring meet in Texas. The event produced a fabulous turnout of Arabian racing participants and fans and a great field of Arabian racehorses. TABA was also honored with the presence of Lara Sawaya, Director of the Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival, Abdul Rehman Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Diplomatic Attache and Waleed El Moughraby, Festival Financial Comptroller ADACH at the races. As a promotion for the event, the Festival held a raffle for a free trip for two to ADIHEX in Abu Dhabi, and Jean White of Houston, Texas was the lucky winner! The great racehorse GRILLA who shipped in for the race didn´t disappoint his fans as he won by two lengths and set a new track record. See results here.
