FIRST TIME STARTER ALLA MASQUERADE WINS FILLIES DIVISION
2009 MANDOLYNN HILL STALLION FUTURITY
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Saturday, Nov. 8, 2009) In the female division, first Time Starter Alla Masquerade rallied from seventh to first in a field of eight to prove best in the $20,000 Mandolynn Hill Futurity, for three-year-old Arabian fillies and mares, over a fast track at Lone Star Park on Saturday night.
The bay daughter of Ala Croixnoire only had one horse behind her after the opening quarter mile before producing a strong rally to win by a two and a quarter length margin. She completed her six furlong assignment in 1:20.21, just over a fifth of a second faster than her male counterparts one race earlier on the card. Well Liked finished second, and it was another three lengths back to Zakora in third.
In winning her debut, Alla Masquerade earned $12,000 for owner Ed Wilson and trainer Elizabeth Brand.
Alla Masquerade paid $44.80, $25.60, $9.00, runner-up Well Liked returned $15.40, $7.00, and Zakora paid $4.60 for show. Paris Affaire, Chnkira, French Silke, Quick Kittie, and Ella MHF completed the order of finish.
